A fast, honest answer to whether mosquitoes are active where you are — derived from real weather conditions, not a calendar.
Mosquito activity isn't a fixed date on the calendar — it's driven by weather. This site uses current and forecast weather data from Open-Meteo (free, public, no tracking) and runs it through a simple activity model based on entomological research:
The model outputs an activity level from 0 (none) to 5 (very high) and a YES or NO answer to the title question. Activity level 2 (Low) and above is considered "season."
Weather data comes from Open-Meteo, an open-source weather API that aggregates forecasts from NOAA, ECMWF, and other global models. It provides current conditions (temperature, humidity, precipitation, wind) and a 6-day forecast at no cost and with no tracking.
Species biology and disease risk information is drawn from CDC Mosquitoes and published entomological literature. Disease information on the site is for general awareness only and is not medical advice.
Location is obtained via your browser's Geolocation API and used only to fetch weather data. It is never stored, logged, or shared.
This site is part of a small network of seasonal condition trackers built to give people fast, honest answers about what's actually happening outside. The allergy counterpart lives at isitallergyseasonyet.com.
